ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER, DEB SMITH
Deb Smith captures nature in her photographs. Originally Pennsylvania, her fondest childhood memories of nature were from visiting her aunt's farm and summer camps. She quickly learned how to use a single lens reflex camera when hired at a summer job while in college at Boston University, where she helped graduate students in media with their projects. She has led weekend ski or bicycle trips for the Appalachian Mountain Club since 1990 and has taken photographs on some trips. Ms. Smith has taken recent workshops in Nature Photography and Creative Photography.
Ms. Smith has been a lawyer in Massachusetts since 1983 and Justice of the Peace in Watertown, Massachusetts since 1989. Since her daily work is inside an office or courtroom, taking photography of nature, gives her a chance to go outside and eyewitness change of the seasons.
Beautiful times in New England are when the buds start to bloom in the spring, on a clear day in the summer of glistening water of the ocean, the bright colors of the changing leaves in the fall, and freshly fallen snow blanketing on the trees. Her photographs capture this beauty. |
